The Duo Latex Mattress is our best seller! It is made with Certified-Organic Dunlap Latex. The core layer is Organic Latex made with the Dunlap production process which provides a firm base. The top layer is made with natural Talalay latex which is softer. It feels like a pillow-top mattress.
Because it has two layers, this mattress is the same thickness as a traditional mattress. And latex's body-balancing abilities, combined with the contouring support make these mattresses especially popular. Also, the Certified-Organic Latex is a renewable resource. There are no additives or fillers used in the Certified-Organic Latex.
Surrounding the latex is a layer of Organic Wool quilted between two layers of Certified-Organic Cotton. This mattress cover provides excellent body-temperature regulation. The wool dissipates heat in the summer and keeps you warm in the winter. Additionally, the cover, unlike some manufacturers, includes cotton and wool on all sides and the bottom of the mattress for excellent moisture protection. There is also a wool-free, vegan friendly option for the mattress cover.
To maximize the life of the mattress, and for ease of care, it is recommended that you also get the Organic Wool Pad. Because this mattress is not vertically symetrical, they don't recommend flipping this bed; but turning it periodically is recommended. Also, it is highly recommended to use a foundation with every latex mattress. This provides needed support and ventilation for the mattress, which will ensure their 10-year warranty is in effect. The foundations use Forestry Stewardship Council wood and are sheathed in an Organic Cotton cover.
The Duo Latex Mattress is delivered with an Easy-Ship method. The mattress is rolled tightly and shipped in a smaller-than-normal box which reduces shipping costs and resources.
