There are 5 steps to the making of the Aireox filter. After each step, filters are covered and sealed to prevent any odors on the filters. Then completed filter is bagged and sealed with a twist tie. Replacing a filter is quick and easy.
Bituminous carbon is a coal based carbon. It is black or dark brown,
often with well-defined bands of bright and dull material. It has a
lower micropore volume level but the mesopores and macropores are
higher which means it has a wider range to absorb molecules from small
to medium making the life of the carbon shorter. It is also used by our
customers who may have a sensitivity to Coconut shell carbon. A
macropore has a diameter of more than 50 nm - A mesopore has a diameter
of 2nm - 50nm and a micropore has a diameter of less than 2 nm.
Coconut shell carbon comes from high quality coconut and is more environmentally friendly or
green. The coconut tree produces coconuts three times a year and the
tree is not killed to harvest the coconut shells; therefore they are a
renewable resource.The coconut shell activated carbon has a higher
micropore volume but less mesopores and macropores which means, it has a
much higher capacity to absorb small molecules such as volatile
organic chemicals (VOC). A macropore has a diameter of more than 50 nm -
A mesopore has a diameter of 2 nm - 50 nm and a micropore has a
diameter of less than 2 nm.
